It's not often I get excited by cheap beers, but reading this month's Tasting Panel in the new Table Matters emag entitled The Old College Try, I was left with the urge to pound a can of Nattie Light for old times sake.  I know my girlfriend longs for her college days in the Land of Pleasant Living brought to life by Mr. Boh--the loveably mustachioed mascot of National Bohemian.  Being that the taste testers spent college in Maryland, I immediately scanned the list for the Nattie Boh, and sure enough, there it was.  I was quite disappointed, as I'm sure Becky and the rest of her WAC friends will be, to find that N.B. is "now brewed in Milwaukee and shipped to Baltimore alone."

Oh well.  The cider we brewed and bottled (hmmmm...  I wonder when I'll put that post up!) earlier this month is ready to drink, although my overly-conservative use of sugar has left it dry and bitter.  Not necessarily bad (in fact, quite tasty), but not exactly something you'd drink a few of.  If you happen to like eating lemons straight, you will love this cider.

I'm a little bummed I'm going up to Syracuse tonight (the night before Thanksgiving), since I'm going to miss out on all of the pseudo-reunions going on tonight and this weekend.  However, we will be having a Philly Beer Club event at the Grey Lodge in the 2nd week of December (shooting for the 12th)--$40 gets you food and an open bar for 3 hours!  Bring your drinkin' liver, cause you're going to need it.
